With increased passenger travel expected across Tamil Nadu over December 23–25, 2025 (Christmas and extended weekend), the State Transport Corporations are running additional bus services including routes connecting Tirunelveli. Authorities planned:
- 255 special buses on December 23 and
- 525 special buses on December 24
to destinations across the state, including Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Thoothukudi, and Madurai. These services supplement regular buses to ease congestion, accommodate leisure and family travel demand, and ensure smoother transport during the festive period. Officials emphasized planning and pre-booking to avoid overcrowding at major terminals.
